Since my old thread is long out of date and I don’t feel like making a new one, here’s a masterpost guide to my headworlds. scroll on through, find one that piques your interest! #worldbuilding https://t.co/rsGjNm7Wmy
@twamueller sorry to bother (didn't know how else to get in touch with you) but just in case you're unaware: your domain https://t.co/47uJhvbdGT is currently down, which is a real shame because I've come to rely heavily on your binary habitable zone calculator for worldbuilding!
@discord your new mobile layout is so awful that I broke my two year streak of not using twitter to tell you. at LEAST give us back the option in settings to swap to classic layout, because THAT WAS FINE THE WAY IT WAS.
I periodically log back into Twitter just so I don't forget why I hate Twitter. it's like getting a booster shot, except instead of dead disease it contains an onslaught of thoughtless vitriol and sensationalism.
this doesn't apply to my friends whom I follow, it's just that Twitter pushes all the controversial garbage to the top so that's the first and only thing I ever see when I stop by to check. it's ideal inoculation
@Midiaou7 I'm using SkySafari Pro, so I can tell you that exactly 1.5mya over Dodoma TZ the moon was half full, Saturn was near zenith in the Milky Way, Mars was near the NW horizon, and the brightest star was Achernar near the Milky Way. I wonder if I can export the skybox to show you...
@Midiaou7 I'm really glad I logged in today on a whim cuz I gotchu. 1.5 mya the night sky would look nearly unrecognizable; all the constellations are muddled. The only familiar sights are the planets; even the Milky Way looks slightly strange. I can get you more deets if needed!
@Wizards_DnD@ChrisPerkinsDnD LOVE the new Spelljammer adventure, but was sorely disappointed you didn't take the opportunity to make Realmspace more interesting. So I fixed it for you! :) [more info in thread]
THAT is what I want to bring to #Spelljammer. The beauty in solitude and desolation and vastness. The wonder. The kinship of we who sail the endless deep is born of knowing that, out there, we are all alone together; and in a vast and awesome universe, all we have is each other.
Don't you want to witness the glittering silent splendor of a glacial cliff, two billion miles from a sun, with your breath the only company in your helmet as you ponder how many eons your footprints will last?
Where's the cosmic awe? Where's the wonder?
