@JustinEGiboney The point is to realize what happiness and joy are and where they come from. Our Children are discipled into thinking happiness comes from material possessions and self-fulfillment, faith offers a different definition. Faith teaches us how to live life well in community.

@drantbradley @CharlesOCasey Our accountability is based on graduation rate. It's not just schools, College Board has lowered standards because kids won't pay for a test that 50% don't pass. Kids are choosing not to drive because they either don't want the responsibility or they want to be free to scroll.

@drantbradley Yes. Not far from Harrodsburg KY you can visit many of their restored building and hear about their way of life. They have converted a building into a hotel and have a restaurant. They own extensive land so there is a lot of hiking as well.

@drantbradley We also act like the only purpose of an education is to impart knowledge. There is so much more that goes on in a school with actual teachers.

@drantbradley Schools are heavily penalized if kids don’t graduate. So anything and everything is done to graduate them. Kids know this. It hurts the school more to not graduate a kid than the student.

@stevemagness Yes. I love my job and am good at it. But my dissatisfaction with my job is mainly due to the disrespect given the profession. We are constantly blamed for societal ills by people who have no idea what is actually happening in the typical American high school.

@MrDanielBuck @maze_sarayn That's the shift in the past few years. Admins had to start investigating and not just accepting the word of the teacher. Now the teacher has to offer proof that what they said happened happened.
