I welcome the US court’s decision with humility and deep respect for the judicial process.
Throughout this challenging period, our faith in truth, fairness and the rule of law remained unwavering.
My deepest gratitude to those who never lost faith in us, in the system and in India’s capacity for justice.
We will continue doing what matters: building for our nation, creating value that outlasts us and serving a purpose larger than ourselves.
That is our commitment.
Jai Hind.
#WATCH | Ranchi, Jharkhand: Student leader Ravindra Paswan says, "We will make just one statement: the government is not serious about our issues; its intentions are not aligned with ours at all; instead, it is driving us away from here using lathis. This movement has now evolved from a student protest into a mass movement. I would like to appeal to all parents: Step out of your homes to support your children's fight; bring your sons and daughters along. The way they did the lathi-charge, the government lacks morality; its conscience is dead. On one hand, you are cutting cakes and celebrating; on the other, you are raining lathis down on thousands of students who are out on the streets... Shouldn't you have issued a statement addressing the situation?... They claim we belong to the BJP and that the BJP helps us. Even if the opposition did help, what wrong did they do? It is the opposition's job to step in when the ruling party becomes tyrannical. On one side, there is a student protest, and on the other, the opposition is responding to it. What is wrong with that? We want to speak directly to the Chief Minister, but the delegates sent to us have no logic; they are incapable of understanding reason."
VIDEO | Jharkhand Students' Protest: Student leader Ravindra Paswan says, "Let me tell you, we have been protesting throughout the day as part of the Vidhan Sabha Gherao March. We reached here and sat peacefully. There were hundreds of thousands of students here. Isn't it the government's moral responsibility that when lakhs of students are out on the streets, it should respond to them and take their demands seriously? But what does the government do? As darkness falls, the entire area is turned into a police camp, and lathis are used against us. The police detain and separate us, while our friends are beaten with lathis... The people of Jharkhand will not tolerate this at all. Now, this movement will intensify. We are announcing today that this student movement has now become a people's movement..."
#WATCH | Ranchi, Jharkhand: One of the protestors says, "The male police officers rained lathi blows on the women. They should be ashamed. It would have been a different matter had female police officers been present... We were sitting peacefully in protest, yet the police treated us brutally. They lathi-charged the women, tore their clothes, and beat them. This government's dictatorship will not be tolerated... We used to hold the police administration in high regard... but a grave injustice has taken place here."
