PM Chairs Fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi chaired the Fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries held in Pusa, New Delhi from 26–28 December 2025, bringing together senior officials to strengthen Centre–State cooperation and advance the vision of Viksit Bharat.

PM highlighted that India's demographic advantage can significantly accelerate the journey towards Viksit Bharat. He also said that ‘Made in India’ must become a symbol of global excellence and competitiveness, and emphasised the need to strengthen Aatmanirbharta.

PM focused on several key priorities, including launching of the National Manufacturing Mission, improving ease of doing business, promoting high-value agriculture, and developing at least one world-class tourist destination in every state. Strong emphasis was placed on skill development aligned with industry and global needs, deeper industry-academia collaboration, and the use of technology and AI in governance.

The conference also underscored the importance of sports infrastructure and talent development, with a long-term vision including events like the 2036 Olympics, reinforcing a collaborative and reform-driven approach to India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation.

Shri @mlkhattar, Hon’ble Union Minister, chaired the National Review Meeting on PM SVANidhi and the orientation session on the restructured PM SVANidhi scheme, held with Urban Development Ministers from States and Union Territories through video conferencing.

During the meeting, the Hon’ble Minister interacted with the Urban Development Ministers, reviewed the progress of the PM SVANidhi scheme, and briefed them on the key features of its restructured version. He also assessed the loan disbursement performance of various banks and issued necessary directions to ensure the timely achievement of their targets.

The PM SVANidhi Scheme, a flagship initiative of the Government of India, provides financial assistance to street vendors to support and strengthen their livelihoods. To date, the scheme has benefitted over 68 lakh street vendors, with more than 98 lakh loans sanctioned and ₹13,995 crore disbursed. Additionally, ₹325 crore in interest subsidies has been provided through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The Hon’ble Minister further highlighted that the SVANidhi Sankalp Abhiyaan will be observed from 3rd November to 2nd December, aimed at realizing the vision of “SVANidhi se Samriddhi.”

Rolled out the Swachh Shehar Jodi (SSJ) initiative with the signing of MoUs between 72 Mentor Cities and nearly 200 Mentee Cities in Sonipat today, creating one of the largest structured and time-bound mentorship models in the urban waste management sector.

This outcome-driven initiative goes beyond ceremonial partnerships by fostering peer learning, knowledge sharing, and the transfer of best practices from clean cities to those aspiring for transformation.

Rooted in the spirit of Antyodaya, SSJ ensures that no city is left behind, enabling every urban space to benefit from the collective knowledge pool of the Mission and ultimately improving the quality of life, health, and dignity of citizens through cleaner, more sustainable, and livable cities.

आज नई दिल्ली स्थित कस्तूरबा नगर में केन्द्रीय लोक निर्माण विभाग द्वारा आयोजित कौशल विकास प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम में सम्मिलित होने का सुअवसर प्राप्त हुआ। माननीय प्रधानमंत्री जी के विकसित भारत 2047 के लक्ष्य को हासिल करने में कौशल विकास की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका होने वाली है।

देश के प्रमुख निर्माण एजेंसी के तौर पर @CPWDGOV ने निर्माण क्षेत्र में स्किल गैप को दूर करने की दिशा में एक सक्रिय पहल की है। अगले वित्त वर्ष में CPWD द्वारा प्रशिक्षित श्रमिकों की संख्या को इस वर्ष के 10,000 से बढ़ाकर 25,000 किए जाने की दिशा में शहरी आवासन मंत्रालय पूर्ण रूप से प्रतिबद्ध है।
