India Importing More Russian Oil Than Ever! 🇮🇳 OilMin to NDTV
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday said that New Delhi is currently importing significantly more crude oil from 🇷🇺 than it was in November 2025.
In a separate interview with CNN-News18, the minister asserted that India was never asked to stop buying Russian oil. The only restriction, he said, concerned purchases from entities that had been placed under sanctions.
Puri added that India now imports energy from 41 countries, helping keep prices under control despite disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
