It's really exhausting for us to take out days, call so many places to see if they're accessible etc. So if you know of or come across these places do write em down in the sheet? (3/n)

Sadly this isnโt a one time event. Not treating mobility devices with care is far too common. Until when do we must travel with the constant fear of our mobility devices getting lost or damaged simply because we wanted to or had to travel?
Experienced my worst nightmare! I travelled from Delhi to London on 9th Nov with @airindia. As a permanent wheelchair user, I rely on my wheelchair for daily mobility. However upon arrival at Heathrow Airport I found my wheelchair to be damaged with its sidegaurds/handles missing
They also highlight how little airlines care for their disabled passengers. There's no consideration for one's personal assistive devices. This is so unfair and unacceptable! Our literal lives depend on our assistive devices, they are not merely objects to be thrown around.
Bravo, #Budget2024!
Inclusive growth by completely forgetting people with disabilities, not even mentioning them once and giving a generous 0.025% of the budget to @socialpwds for our empowerment.
Truly redefining #SocialJustice!

Reeks of ignorance, privilege & ableism. Do non-disabled people ever even for a second consider the fact that it's because of SO MANY barriers they don't see disabled professionals out there & not simply because we are incapable?
This view is exactly why we need representation
As this debate is blowing up-
With all due respect to the Differently Abled. ๐ซก
Does an Airline hire a pilot with disability? Or would you trust a surgeon with a disability.
The nature of the #AIS ( IAS/IPS/IFoS) is field-work, long taxing hours, listening first hand to peopleโs grievances-which requires physical fitness.
Why does this premier service need this Quota in the first place!

Me and my friend have been struggling to find accessible (wheelchair friendly) housing to rent. We would need to move sometime in August so it's a bit urgent. I'd be really grateful to receive any help at all please!!
Flew via @airvistara last night from BLR-DEL and was hit by the realisation (yet again) that the system does not care about disabled people.
Long thread. ๐งต

Hi @NMMConline@NMMCCommr.
We have such lovely walking paths in Vashi, which are made inaccessible to wheelchairs.
Meanwhile, the cyclists they are meant to dissuade (?) get in easily.
@imlikaboota @DG_NTA It never gets better. Same thing happened w me in 2020 while appearing for MA entrances. Despite submitting my disability certificate & everything I was allotted centres which were inaccessible. I had to be lifted up by a couple of random ppl(staff)in the middle of rampant COVID
@drsitu Sigh. This is not even close to being "inspiring". It's so sad that the disabled community in India at large lives with minimal to no resources at all. This image truly shows how disabled people have to survive and live without dignity, respect, reasonable accommodations.
