Columbia had students who said this was true arrested, expelled, and stripped of their degrees. They were falsely accused of antisemitism by the international press and government for speaking out. What will the consequence be for the perpetrators admitting it? Probably nothing.
No athlete should have their achievements reduced to their appearance, personality or anything outside of their sport.
The male athletes in this video were rightly frustrated by the questions they were asked. But for female athletes, this is often the reality.
Chamique Holdsclaw HOF speech: "Before all of this there was Astoria Houses in Queens NY…When I was growing up girls were not allowed to play…but those young men saw something in me, advocated for me, and made sure I had a place on that court…I will never forget Ron Ron (Metta World Peace)––'anyone tries to hurt her I'm knockin you out'––that was protection, respect, belief…before the world knew my name, they made sure I belonged…I was surrounded by greatness…I remember watching Speedy Claxton play at Elmcor––the rhythm, confidence, energy––that was New York Basketball. Lamar Odom…I realized I needed to elevate my game…Being around greatness at a young age demanded greatness from me"
“I did a leg amputation on a 5-year-old girl, and the only anesthesia that we had was the anesthesia doctor singing to her… We were praying for her to faint. She stayed awake the whole amputation.”
Absolutely devastating testimony from doctors in Gaza.
New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart, or Stewie, as she’s affectionately called, is grateful to be home. Save for a few away games — and a quick stop in Berlin for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in early September — Stewart and her team are essentially back at Barclays for the rest of the season, and the support of fans at home means a lot coming back from the road.
Last week’s courtside guests, Hillary Clinton and Anna Wintour, didn’t hurt either. Stewart didn’t actually get a chance to say hi to Wintour, but she’d like to see her back. “I hope she had an incredible time,” she says. She’d also bring back Meek Mill if she could. “I’m a big fan,” she says. “I listen to Championships on my way into the arena before tip-off.”

@ddubxdo She either needs to toughen up and put on some muscle, or find a different job. You can’t play professional sports and act like you’re made of glass. I had some sympathy for her hesitance when she came back from injury, but enough time has passed now.
Very loud Refs you suck chants ensuing after the Liberty lost their challenge. They challenged whether or not Nneka hitting MJ's face was a foul on NYL.
On the ensuing play, Sabrina Ionescu drove and got an and one. She fist pumped right after. Ioenscu leads the team w 14 pts.
