This audio clip is a conversation between them.
This is Stockholm syndrome, gaslighting, and sunk cost fallacy in a relationship—laid bare. Your blood will boil listening to this, but the girl was helplessly trapped in this abusive cycle.
She isn’t coming back. And may her abuser suffer a thousand times more than she did. But for the rest of us—listen. Girls or boys, no one—apart from maybe your family—should ever be more important than your self-respect. Anyone who abuses you or turns violent DOES NOT deserve a second chance. That’s a red flag. The moment you feel disrespected in a relationship, leave. However hard it feels, walk away. Go back to your parents, your friends—cry, scream, break down—but don’t go back to them.
Parents, make your grown-up children listen to this. Teach them never to become this man and never to be this vulnerable for anyone.
This is gut-wrenching. He abused her like the worst of men, yet she was still begging him. May her soul find peace. This is beyond tragic.
