EY's have immersed themselves in all things 'SPACE'! They have decided that they would quite like to go on a trip to Neptune, and have designed their own 'travel brochure' to take with them to help them find the planets in the solar system. Some wonderful independent writing!
In Year 1, we have just started our unit on Architecture. This week, we learned about some important buildings in London and our task was to sketch St Paul's Cathedral. Some amazing results! @DEMAT__@PKCKST
We enjoyed our Christmas dinner today and were very lucky that some of our Governors were able to come along. We made sure to check that they ate their sprouts! @DEMAT__
On Monday we had a wonderful afternoon Ely Cathedral as part of the @DEMAT__ Carol Concert. What a fantastic experience for our choir to sing in such a beautiful venue.
In RE Year 2 have been learning about the religion of Christianity and why Jesus was given the name a Saviour. In this lesson the children sequenced the Christmas story and wrote special names for Jesus on candles. @DEMAT__
In Year 1, we learned about what an archaeologist is and about the artefacts they find. We had a go at finding artefacts in our trays of sand! We had to dig gently, and we had to brush carefully to find our artefacts @PKCKST@DEMAT__
This week Year 2 have finished their Matisse artwork of re-creating his cut-outs. They used complementary colours, organic shapes and scissors to create their final pieces of art. Some wonderful art work well done. @PKCKST@DEMAT__
Children in Early Years enjoyed a visit to Duxford Air Museum. They got to climb onboard a Concorde, experienced an amazing Spitfire taking off, & had a go at sketching aircraft from the past, present & the future. Well done for completing your first ever school trip!@DEMAT__
Children in KS2 took part in a Science lecture with author Isobel Thomas via zoom. They practiced writing 'impossible questions', finding out some wonderful facts. Our favourites included that wombats do cube-shaped poos, and that pet cats are actually closer to liquid than solid

Year 5 have had a wonderful day at Anglesey Abbey today. We've had a go at den building, climbed a giant tree house and enjoyed making some art work from our environment.
Amazing effort last night from the U11 Netball team, securing a 2nd place finish! They only lost one game in the whole tournament. They played fantastically together and represented the school to the highest standard. Proud teacher moment @DEMAT__
In Larks Class, we have been investigating whether rocks are permeable or impermeable. We looked closely to see if bubbles came out of the rocks when they were in water. Permeable rocks would make bubbles. Impermeable rocks would not. @PKCKST
In our PKC 'All things Royal' topic, EY children noticed that the King's portrait on his new stamps was a 'silhouette'. After learning how these are made, we all had a go at making one. We had great fun afterwards trying to match each silhouette to its owner! @PKCKST@DEMAT__
When you have had the most wonderful day celebrating the coronation of King Charles III. We started the day with a Coronation Concert, followed by a special lunch. The highlight has to be the beautiful singing of our Glee Club members, very proud staff! @DEMAT__@CEO_DEMAT
