For a deeply personal and highly entertaining journey and for a rarely seen Italian perspective on the last days of Ceaușescu's Romania we give The Suso Cecchi d'Amico Award for Best Dramaturgy to Antonio Pisu for the film EST (Italy, 2020).
For a portrayal of great empathy and an eye for character growth we give The Ralph Richardson Award for Best Actor jointly to Jacopo Costantini, Matteo Gatta and Lodo Guenzi as the male ensemble of Antonio Pisu's EST (Italy, 2020).
For magnificently carrying the core of the plot by offering up her internal world The Rosaura Revueltas Award for Best Actress goes to Sarina Yousefi for Metamorphosis in the Slaughterhouse (Javad Darei, Canada/Germany/ Iran/USA, 2021).
For the immersive camerawork that drags us into the river of the poetic stories about the word Tamaran we award Kosuke Kuramoto with The Witold Sobociński Award for Best Cinematography for his work on Tadasuke Kotani's Tamaran Hill (Japan, 2019)!
For rendering poetry unto prayer and for enabling us to share in the deeply personal experience of a poet whose spirit prevailed in the darkest of times The Antonio Ripoll Award for Best Editing goes to Emily Felder for Who Will Remain? (Emily Felder, Christa Whitney, USA, 2021).
For layered composition and the unique soundscape that doubles up as a love letter to Radio Belgrade we award The Winston Ryder Award for Best Sound to Ivan Zelić for his incredible work on Marija Stojnić's Speak So I Can See You (Serbia, 2019)!
