Our Year 5 reading challenge stars played bingo in the library with our lovely librarians this week! Book Bingo was definitely our favourite reading challenge so far. Congratulations to all and enjoy your prizes! #ReadingChallenge#GreatSchoolLibraries@GreatSchLibs
In their final library sessions of the year, EYFS and Pre-Prep pupils have been listening to I Am Not a Prince! by @RachDavisAuthor and @BeatrixHatcher, then participated in a draw-along of main character: Hopp! What lovely froggy drawings everyone! #DrawAlong#IAmNotAPrince
Congratulations to our latest completer for the Book Bingo Reading Challenge! We are creeping ever closer to that final game of bingo with our keen readers! #ReadingChallenge#BookBingo#GreatSchoolLibraries
This week our Y4s are judging #AprilsGarden, illustrated by #CatalinaEcheverri for the @CarnegieMedals. We are looking at colour, emotions and body language in the book and trying Catalina’s pencil and charcoal techniques to create our own images of April - tricky stuff!
Congratulations to our first Y5 completers of the Book Bingo Reading Challenge this term! Not long now until we play our final game of bingo for this academic year. We can’t wait! #ReadingChallenge
It’s #EmpathyDay! Miss Cook & Miss Etienne have been reading #TheColourMonster, a book about emotions & colours, to EYFS & Pre-Prep pupils & then we all coloured in bookmarks with the colour/emotion we are feeling. Lots of happy yellows and green calms! @EmpathyLabUK
This week in their @CarnegieMedals shadowing sessions, Y4 were comparing and contrasting two books: #TheTreeAndTheRiver by Aaron Becker and #Lost by @Ilustrajo. Each class split into 2 groups, talking criteria with library staff in turns before coming back together to discuss!
This week in our @CarnegieMedals sessions, we assessed the illustrations in The Search for the Giant Arctic Jellyfish and ended by rising to @chloesavageart’s challenge to draw the biggest jellyfish we could, on the school playground! What majestic giant jellyfish they are! #Art
Lately a mysterious benefactor has found a way to change all of the ipad wallpapers/screen savers in the library to images of @TheRock, despite the settings being blocked by IT. We can’t help but wonder what the People’s Champion himself would have to say about this! #LibraryLife
We discussed colour, size and scale and endpapers, testing out the illustrator’s artistic technique by designing our own fictional plants in a single colour and adding depth with shading. @CarnegieMedals

Year 4 have started their sessions shadowing the @CarnegieMedals for illustration! After an introduction to the books last week, this week we focused on #TheWilderness by #SteveMcCarthy.
The Y6 Library Monitors are on a trip this week so we put a call out to all Y5 pupils interested in stepping in to the role for 1 week only! Lots of children applied so a random name generator had to be deployed to choose our enthusiastic team. Thanks for all of your hard work!
