From Maundy Thursday to Good Friday.
This year, we began a new Procession of Hope with St Mary Magdalene, Wandsworth Common.
We went through the new Springfield housing development to Tooting Broadway tube, witnessing to God’s love for the world.
Tonight, we’ve been praying, talking and thinking about the ceremonies of Good Friday
- the empty aumbry
- the carrying of the cross
- processions
- Jesus’ death
- silence
- intercessions
- veneration / proclamation of the cross
- the reading of the Passion
- Holy Communion
Tonight, we’ve been talking and learning about what’s to come on Maundy Thursday.
- the institution of the Eucharist
- the institution of the priesthood
- foot-washing
- holy oils
- the altar of repose
- the stripping of the altar
- the Watch
Join us this evening at 6.30pm for the Eucharist and then at 7pm for a simple supper.
Over supper, we’ll be exploring the biblical basis and customs of Maundy Thursday.

And whom to give them to.”
