Congrats to Capt Matthew Fanning (SCSS '90, SJHS '94), who took command of the US Navy’s Submarine School in Groton. Capt Fanning oversees almost 500 staff members training Sailors for service in the US Submarine Force. Fr. Marcello & Capt Fanning are friends since Kindergarten.
Please join us in wishing Deacon Toole a very happy birthday. We are very grateful to Deacon for all he does to support our parish throughout the year. On this day most especially, we wish him a day full of the people he loves and a year full of God’s abundant blessings.
Day to Baptize Your Child at St. Catherine’s was a resounding success. 48 children were welcomed to the Church. The joy in the room was simply palpable. Fr Marcello: “The message of the day was simple: Welcome! It was a day to welcome families to a deep friendship with Christ."

Scouts celebrated Scout Sunday at St. Catherine’s yesterday. It was a wonderful way to recognize scouts for their contributions in citizenship & service. As we gain a deeper appreciation of the world in which we live through scouting, may our reverence for You grow stronger.

St. Catherine’s mourns the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.
The main doors of our church are draped in violet and black as a sign of mourning and prayer.
We will celebrate a Requiem Mass for the late Pope Emeritus on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 7:00 p.m.
St. Catherine’s first-ever Gingerbread Bash was a resounding success! The room was festive & the energy high. Kids built gingerbread nativities, which they filled with the Holy Family, animals, shepherds, angels, wise men. Everyone learned why Jesus is truly the sweetest gift!
Dozens of parishioners joined Fr Marcello yesterday to pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary in Nichols Village Cemetery. November is dedicated to prayer for the faithful departed; they prayed for departed members of St. Catherine’s parish & those buried in the cemetery.
Fr. Marcello led the middle school students at St. Catherine of Siena School in praying the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary on Thursday on a walk through the Nichols Village Cemetery to pray for the faithful departed of the parish.
