On Friday we recognised our outstanding Lower School students, in their Celebration of Achievement. We are constantly impressed by their enthusiasm, dedication and love of learning. The school orchestra played beautifully, and it was a memorable end to the school year.

The culmination of House Day was the Talent Show. Incredible students filled the hall with wonderful music, dance, comedy, magic & of course- unicycling!
Showcasing the best of St Ed’s through performances & supportive atmosphere, it was a magical end to the term.

We wish all our American families & friends a very happy 4th of July. Our American students offer so much to the life of St Ed's and we are honoured that you call us home, even if it's sometimes only for a short time. The US flag is flying today in celebration.

We are delighted to have been recognised by the Pearson National Teaching Awards for excellence in two categories: 'Making a Difference' & 'Leadership'.
These awards recognise the tremendous work of the whole school and are a celebration of Mr Burke's four years at the helm.

Over 100 questions were received during the election hustings. The best chosen for Tuesday's Great Debate. We began with questions on climate change, then crime, NHS funding, education & trust.
A privilege to see the whole school community, so engaged in the electoral process.

We had a magnificent evening celebrating the achievements of Yr10 to U6.
A bittersweet occasion as we said farewell to U6, some of whom began their St Ed's journey in Kindergarten. Thank you to our guests, speakers, parents & performers who made the evening so special.

The A Level Physics students made the most of last week's sunny weather: conducting an A Level investigation to prove the relationship between radius and velocity in circular motion. They worked collaboratively & showed an excellent level of intellectual curiosity.

In Science, Year 7 had a fabulous time, investigating the behaviour of woodlice. What conditions do they prefer? Dark, Light, Damp or Dry?
What do you think?

The final Monday of term can only mean one thing- Staff Bake Off! This term’s theme was ‘tarts’ and could be sweet or savoury. The tasting and voting is taken very seriously, as you can see from the pictures. Mrs Watson’s strawberry tarts were a worthy winner- delicious!

Year 8 were joined by a selection of Year 9 students for photography. They were given the challenge to take surreal photographs around school, inspired by photographer Bill Brandt. They had to consider light, composition, scale & colour. The results are very impressive!

Yr7 have just finished their Food lessons for the year. They put into practice the skills they have learnt to independently produce a salad, which had to have a carbohydrate, homemade dressing & be colourful. The results were delicious-
perfect for the Summer!

The Summer Ball is a wonderful way for the 6th Form and staff to celebrate the end of exams, the end of the year, and for Upper Sixth, the end of school.
A delightful evening, celebrating friendships which will hopefully last a lifetime.

After impressing us with their dedicated approach to their GCSE exams, this week saw Year 11’s last jolly. All the thrills and rides of Alton Towers to celebrate their amazing time at St Ed’s!
We think their tutors had a pretty fun day too…

Who should win an Impact Award?
Y8 completed their persuasive project in English this week. Who has inspired & motivated them? The range was impressive: they spoke eloquently about Civil Rights campaigners, sports personalities and a range of entertainers.
Brilliant work Y8!

L6 students enjoyed the #UCASExhibition in Birmingham. It was an early start, but they made the most of their time by visiting university & apprenticeship stands & finding out vital info to make informed choices.
Some excellent #swag was also collected!

We continue to be so impressed with our students' engagement with the current General Election campaign. Last weekend, some of the A Level Politics & Economics students attended the Cheltenham hustings- posing excellent questions and inviting candidates to School.
