Summer Reading Challenge
Our challenge this term is to play Reading Bingo. Cards have been handed out to Years 7 and 8 with tasks instead of numbers. Junior pupils will receive their cards soon!
From the school records: Easter 1949. Everywhere - but especially the chapel - was decorated with flowers; cherry blossom, daffodils and smaller flowers. The breakfast table was adorned with eggs and cards.
On this day November 19th 1974: From the school log book
Sr. Muriel arrived on a visit to see the school. She is writing a thesis on the part played by women's religious communities in education. She was taken round the school and given various records to study.

"An expedition to Inkpen in the school bus. Two hills were scaled, one before lunch and one after. We then saw Inkpen church...in a setting of wintry trees and ploughed fields."

"3rd. November. All Hallowe'en Fancy Dress Party 6 - 8.30 pm. Entertainment by each form - dancing, games and supper."
The Library may be closed to students at present but books are still being distributed for pupils to enjoy. Here are some of Year 7 enjoying their library books during form time this morning.
Apparently, I am Evie from the film 'The Mummy'. She may not be an explorer or an adventurer but Evie is proud to be a librarian. And she is pretty good at camel riding!

The much-loved author has been speaking to the BBC about his infection with Covid 19. Thankfully he continues to recover and @StGabsLibrary wish one of our favourite authors a speedy get well soon.
