Every year, in the UK, around 400 people die from drowning as a result of an accident in or around water. This is why we ensure all our Year 6 complete their Mini-Medics and Life Saving Qualifications with Super Sharkey’s Swim School before they leave. Well Done Year 6!

During the National Festival of Fieldwork in June, Year 4 will be visiting Carding Mill Valley. Opportunities for children to experience Physical Geography Fieldwork, is essential for learners to deepen their understanding of the world around them. @The_GA

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Soccer Aid. We'll be holding our own Soccer Aid Challenge on Friday 10th July. Every donation helps UNICEF reach children with the support they need from healthcare and nutrition to protection, education and safe spaces to play.💙

We've an exciting end to the term tomorrow...Year 1 are visiting Twycroos Zoo,Nursery and Reception have an in school farm visit with Southfield's Farm and our Cricket Test Series comes to an exciting climax with a coaching masterclass led by Wolverhampton CC's Rishi Upamal. 🏏

Our potato plants are coming along nicely, thriving and growing strong! It won’t be long now until harvest time-- Tuesday 16th June! Coinciding with the World Cup our @FFLWalsall Team will be creating exciting dishes from qualifying nations. First up- Chive and Pea Tortillas. 🇲🇽

Next week, St John Ambulance will be in school to deliver their First Aid Pathway for all children in KS2. Over the next four weeks, 240 children will be trained in age appropriate First Aid. Topics to include~Stings and Bites- Asthma- Bleeding- Choking- Basic Life Support. ⛑️

Year 6 begin their Water Safety and First Aid training on Monday. They will also learn how to administer essential CPR in the event of a medical emergency. Learning CPR is an important skill for everyone…❤️

Year 1 are visiting 🦍Twycross Zoo 🐘on Friday… Trips and visits are wonderful opportunities to bring learning to life, securing and deepening knowledge and understanding. (Great fun too!)

Southfields Farm will be returning to St Giles on Friday 22nd May. Nursery and Reception will be spending the whole day interacting with the animals and learning about farming and animal husbandry. Lots of time for Farmyard Tales too… 📚
