Welcome to the Alumni Association of @StIgnatius in San Francisco. #Jesuit education for the Bay Area since 1855. This is Jesuit. This is SI. #WeAreSI#AMDG
We're so excited to announce that we have launched a YouTube channel dedicated to our SI Alumni community!
Our first video, "Building Ignatians," is the latest entry in our WAN series. Learn about SI's six campuses and a little about our future, too! https://t.co/ThC7Vf9tIG
Please keep his family in your prayers, including his wife, Kappy, and their children, Laura, Christopher ’77, Michael ’78, Nicholas ’80, Paul ’84, and Angela, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.”
SI honored Mr. La Rocca with the Christ the King Award in 2004, four years after his retirement, in recognition of his character, and his impact helping SI move from its Stanyan Street campus to the Sunset District...
He was respected by the coaches who relied on his organizational abilities and by the athletes who knew that their time on the field, court or diamond was thanks to his dedication and know-how.
A message from President Fr. Eddie Reese:
“It is with sadness that I inform you Leo La Rocca ’53 has passed away. A remarkable athletic director, the fourth in SI’s history, Mr. La Rocca was a gifted administrator, a dedicated family man, and someone known as a gifted helper...
The Christ the King decoration honors alumni “who have distinguished themselves in their professions, who have shown a commitment to the SI community, and who best exemplify the ideal of service to God and fellow man.”
It is the highest honor we can bestow upon an SI alum. 🎖️
Our first campus looked VERY different than the St. Ignatius of today! 🏫

As we prepare for tomorrow's exciting visit, let's take a look back at one of our WAN videos highlighting LCDR Goossens, CDR Swartz, and the brave servicemen and women who channel their Jesuit values into protecting our country.

We are thrilled to share that Blue Angels Lieutenant Commander Scott Goossens ‘06 and Navy Reserve Commander Mark Swartz ‘01 will be flying together in a two-person F/A-18 Super Hornet over San Francisco tomorrow! ✈️
Their bravery, leadership, and service embody exactly what it means to live a life according to Ignatian values.
CDR Swartz -- who trained LCDR Goossens -- will be seated behind the pilot as the two dazzle above the City by the Bay in a beautiful full-circle moment for them. 🌉

Last Sunday, over 120 SI alums from Classes of 1969-2018 came together for Wildcat High Tea, celebrating 30 years of coeducation at St. Ignatius!
It was an important event that reinforced how the Jesuit values our alumni carry with them make our communities stronger. ❤️💙
