On duty yesterday for @StJohnGlanmire along with colleagues from St John Ambulance Cork, providing event cover for the East Cork Motorcycle Club’s Grass-track Practice in Mogeely.
A blended learning First Aid Response (FAR) course will be held on Sat 12th & Sat 19th Sept (online), & Sat 26th Sept (in person at Glanmire) from 9am to 5pm each day. All COVID-19 precautions will be taken including sanitisation protocols & personalised training equipment!
This evening we returned to in-person training, under the guidance of our infection control team, to practice critical skills including donning & doffing of PPE. Huge thanks to volunteer & RGN Ashling Doyle who led this session - her experience as an ED Nurse is invaluable!
We were lucky to have Dr @Chris_Mckeon90 deliver a lecture to our volunteers tonight on his experiences last year with @LDNairamb HEMS - fascinating lecture, we’re lucky to have a strong pre-hospital network in Cork with great educators. Thanks Chris!

As we adjust to new ways of working, we were delighted to get back to regular Tuesday training sessions this evening - with a virtual meeting on Microsoft Teams! We covered Basic Virology, PPE donning & doffing, ambulance cleaning protocols &transport of Covid+ patients.@stjohnie
