St Margaret's HS Youth SSVP has been officially established with a commissioning service, with both our Senior & Junior SSVP in attendance. Special thanks to Fr Breslin, who conducted the mass and to the SSVP representatives David and Bridget for coming along.

On Tuesday 5th of November Anne Saltrese visited our SMHS SSVP Youth. Anne is the manager of Across, a charity that facilitates pilgrimages to Lourdes for people with intensive support needs, whom four of our senior SSVP members had the opportunity to assist during October break.

We are delighted that our pupils have secured this opportunity to play such an important part in empowering members of our community who have special care needs, to make the pilgrimage to Lourdes.

We have received confirmation that four of our senior girls, Jessica Campbell, Orla Doris, Mhairi Ewart and Lucy McGarrity will join the Across charity's pilgrimage to Lourdes during the October break!

The girls' places have been funded by Saint Margaret's High School SVDP and Saint Edward's Parish SVDP. The girls will play a crucial role in assisting members of our community in the 'Jumbulance, a medically-converted bus on the pilgrimage.

Our SMHS Saint Vincent de Paul Food and Clothing bank is going from strength to strength! We are so proud to have processed food parcels for another 20 families in our community this week - our pupils are delighted to continue making such a positive contribution to our community!

Members of our Junior and Senior SVDP attended the Bishop's Mass for SVDP on Monday 23rd September. Our pupils were fully involved in the Mass, saying the readings and helping with the offertory. It was a lovely evening and our pupils were excellent ambassadors for our school.

On Thursday the 23rd of May, we were delighted to welcome Father Peter Walters to St Margarets HS. Father Walter’s lives in Columbia, South America, where he feeds, clothes and educates over 400 street children every day. We were so proud to hand over a donation and gifts. 💙

In the course of our SSVP youth lenten fundraising we have raised over £200 for our charities. Events include a bake sale, Nicole’s nail bar and congratulations to Mrs Hunter who won our easter raffle! 💙🤍🐣🐰

On thursday the 14th of march our SSVP youth are holding a bake sale in the cafeteria at lunch if anyone would like to come along for a sweet treat. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.🍪🍰🧁

Our SSVP easter hamper raffle will begin today for £1 a strip to win this amazing prize

Nicole is running an SSVP fundraising nail bar at lunchtimes on a thursday during lent in Mrs Allans room for a donation of £2.50 that has been very successful so far. Well done Nicole! 🤍

SMHS Youth SSVP visited St Andrews gardens on Tuesday the 17th of February and performed for the residents aswell as chatting to them to make the winter season a little brighter. ✨

Members of SMHS SSVP youth participated in a sponsored walk and litter collection on Wednesday, raising funds to send some senior Saint Margaret’s pupils to Lourdes later in the year while also doing some beneficial work within our community. Well done to everyone involved!

The SSVP is running an Easter raffle this week to help raise funds for the Lourdes trip. There are various different prises available such as; make up, Easter eggs and much more.

There will be a non uniform day on Thursday the 16th of March. Minimum donation of £1 please. All proceeds go to SVDP and the Lourdes fundraiser 🙏🙏

we are so privileged that the Across Lourdes Jumbulance visited our school on 9th February to kick-start our SMHS SSVP Lourdes fundraising campaign 🙏🏻
