Y3-Elmers used Google Earth to locate Manchester. They explored and wrote facts about the key geographical features of Greater Manchester.

In the Parliament week, a few children from Y3, who wanted to be on the School Council, presented their speeches to the class. After that, everyone voted to choose the 2 new School Council Representatives.

Y3 had an absolutely fantastic time at the History Alive stone age workshop yesterday. The children were completely immersed in the world of our ancient ancestors and thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience.

Y3 celebrated Black History Month and learned about the achievements and contributions of the brave and inspiring individuals like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr and Nelson Mandela who stood up for fairness and helped make the world a better place.

In PSHE, Y3 have been learning about safer internet practices. We understood the risks of sharing personal and private informations. We also learned the importance of identifying the differences between real and manipulated images and news online.

Y3- Elmers learned about different types of weathering and their causes in Science. They explored our school fields to observe examples of weathering. They recorded their observations and then discussed them with the class.

Our 'Planet Protectors' proudly represented St Mark's at the Wigan Youth Climate Summit. They got involved in all of the activities and came back with so many amazing ideas. They are full of excitement about how we can help our environment & evolve our Climate Action Plan!
October is Black History Month so The Minions are learning about The Windrush Generation. In English we have read and retold, in story circles, the story of Celia who came to England to be a teacher. This week we will be writing our own Windrush stories. #creatingabetterfuture
