SMS student Emilie participated in the National Youth Leadership Forum Pathways to STEM program at Babson College last week! She assembled a robot, built an electrically powered carnival ride, dissected a cow’s heart, assembled an artificial lung, etc. It was quite an experience!

We ended our year strong with the best end of the year parties! These kids celebrated with each other by playing games, doing arts & crafts, having bubbles, balloons & ice cream, getting some extra playground time, & even with visits from magicians & furry and scaley friends!

Chess Club wrapped up with the finals of our tournament! Alex D Grade 5 won first place and Johannes J Grade 6 came in second place. We can’t wait to resume Chess Club in the fall!

Our 5th grade studied systems in the world. We read the book Water Princess which is about how some people have to walk hours to get water and then return home to clean it. We then ran a few experiments to see what materials would make the best water filters.
