If you show up to Mass an hour early, that's okay. Spend some time praying for your St. Michael community!

We join Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, and all the Ordinaries of the Holy Land in calling for a day of fasting, abstinence, and prayer on October 17th. Read Cardinal Pizzaballa's statement at: https://t.co/MPh9cIvI4c
Friends, the news of the attacks upon the Holy Land and its people makes my heart ache. As Christians we believe that God in Christ accepted for himself a human nature and chose for himself the flesh and blood of an Israelite. We believe that in doing so he extended the promise he made to Abraham, the Law he gave to Moses, and the words of the Prophets as the common moral and spiritual heritage of humanity. It is this heritage that serves as the foundation for our civilization. Further, our identity and mission as Christians is inextricably linked to that of the Israelites for we believe that in Christ we have truly become one family. Throughout my life I have prayed for the peace and protection of Jerusalem, and I ask that you join me in this prayer in this hour of need.
