@youmustbegrumpy@thomson_ai25900 Fully agreed, club has dropped in standards since Gillespie left. I’m wanting Needham and Lasley to come out and justify this appointment because me and everyone else is struggling to see what McCleish has done to warrant being the manager
EXCLUSIVE! Craig McLeish to be named St Mirren manager as Buddies hand him 2-year deal after successful survival mission | @ScottBurns75

@mark265987 Yep exactly that, and then the seasons completely gone and it’s just avoid getting relegated again. Now isn’t the time for experimenting with inexperienced coaches, how can any fan happily buy a season ticket with excitement for the season ahead
First of all this isn’t Craig McCleish’s fault at all. I just don’t see how the board can justify this appointment given the time we have had and apparently hired a company to assist.
McCleish for me is a great coach but only a coach for now, we need proper experience.
@ANDYFULT0N The way the board have handled this needs serious scrutiny, they would have known this won’t go down well with the support and have put him in an awful position where he will be under extra pressure.
@thomson_ai25900 Lennon would’ve been a perfect appointment and I think if approached he comes after Dunfermline failed to go up. If that failed we then go abroad for a manager.
@thomson_ai25900 It’s purely cost cutting with zero ambition, we had the opportunity for a fresh start and shouldn’t copied your model of European managers instead we do this, it’s so disappointing
@kevomaximo Motherwell have only lost their manager recently, we’ve known for 12 weeks now. I understand the club want to make the right decision but you also need this done early to give the new manager time to build his squad
Over 12 weeks since Robinson left yet we still don’t have a manager or any signs of one coming in
We should’ve had a plan A and plan B for the outcome of the playoffs and been ready to enact after the Thistle game.
Instead we’re standing still whilst clubs around us aren’t
On the manager appointment. As good as McLeish was in keeping us up I think it’s just a bit too early in his career to be the main man.
Whoever the new coach may be I would like to see us veer away from the 3-5-2 style and go for a more modern style and blend in the youth more
@J_oh_n@hahahahahahhaht You stick to your empty trophy cabinet with your European qualifiers and we’ll stick to winning actual meaningful physical success in the form of trophies
@J_oh_n@hahahahahahhaht And??
You’ll play European football and likely be knocked out before it actually kicks off. That’s not exactly successful is it
@J_oh_n@hahahahahahhaht The irony
You’re over 30 years since you last won a trophy and are instead celebrating a European spot which you won’t do anything in
@Evan_Justin_@J_oh_n No it’s not, you didn’t win anything you were first place losers. The aim of football is to win silverware we have and you haven’t therefore we have had a more successful season.
It’s as simple as that, had you not bottled the league then yes you’d have had a better season
That’s what Champions do 🏆
Our worst season in a long time missing out on top 6 yet we still had a more successful season than Hearts,Aberdeen and Motherwell who were all praying on our downfall
Again Idowu was the difference maker last night, he looks so dangerous on the wings when running at defenders.
His only drawback is his final ball sometimes but if he can improve on that he wouldn’t be with us
He has to be a starter next season out wide in hopefully a 4-3-3
