So Iβve taken the plunge and accepted redeployment to ITU for my bank shift tomorrow night, any advice for what to expect as a band 3 in Critical Care for a newbie?

@StNurseProject
#WeStNs are looking after ourselves by taking a summer break.
We hope all our followers are looking after themselves too. If you are currently struggling with your mental health @MindCharity have a list of numbers you can call for support. https://t.co/FZgNeaGxh7
Sooo after a long year of not being to do things like this we are having a Darwin fun day! Including a tombola, car wash and cake sale....any donations welcome. Will be based in our reception area or car park if the weather is nice. @CombinedNHS@PegisStoke
@WeStudentNurse Definitely try to make the team aware of who you are and what your purpose is being there - nothing more awks than turning up on a first day and nobody knowing who you are #WeStNs
@WeStudentNurse So each hub is basically everyone else in our cohort (14 of us) βs placement areas and we rotate so itβs the norm :) we also have a monthly KIT with our PEF which is super helpful #WeStNs
For me, coming up to first placement! A lot of my preparation has involved meeting with my Hub Team and clarifying expectations and completing pre-reading that was advised #WeStNs
@WeStudentNurse We had our first meeting a month in advance where they gave me the student pack with pre-reading etc then weβve had a meeting this week (a week before) to discuss objective based on their placement profile #WeStNs
Thatβs all from @PUNC_ElLo today! It has been a pleasure tweeting with you all π£
Tomorrow your in the hands of the wonderful @Ffi_MH !
But until then we hope you have a lovely evening π« #WeStNs
@UoDNursingSoc it helps avoid admission to the mental health inpatients wards by supporting people in crisis in their own home. Itβs quite a varied MDT of doctors, nurses, social workers etc. It also then works with people in hospital to help them transition to being back in the community ππΌ
