Human development & social justice in the developing world. Projects: Ugandan school for street kids; Support for Albanian/Romanian trafficked women & children
A special mention to Karen and Pat, who came to our Thank You event and sold socks, jumpers and cards and gave all the money raised to the World Development Group. Thank you for your kindness 😊
Wonderful to see lots of our supporters on Sunday. Despite it being a Thank You event, with many of you already donating regularly, we raised £594 – Thank you!
Due to unreliable internet, this Uganda video arrived late. Please enjoy it now!

Some good news! Many thanks to the Souter Charitable Trust, for a grant of £2,700. This money will help cover the rising food prices, that the FML school currently faces in Uganda. Where staples, such as posho and beans, have become so expensive and difficult to obtain.
Sister Imelda Poole is our amazing, tireless contact in Albania, fighting human trafficking. Please have a read or listen if you have the time: https://t.co/5ZREWAjX40
This week we shipped 14 boxes of school shoes, underwear, socks, stationery, skipping ropes and footballs to FML Kabarole #UgandaSchool. Thank you to all our friends and supporters who bought or donated items, and not forgetting the sorters and packers #EducationForAll
Back in December, we appealed for funding to help replace the worn out mattresses that the original street children from Kampala sleep on, in dormitories next to the school. Thanks to your help, look how well things are progressing.
In March, we plan to send our next shipment out to Uganda to help FML school. We would be grateful for donations of the following, for boys and girls (ages 5-15):
Pens & pencils
School style shoes
New pants and socks (red, white or black)
Bras
Thank you!
A big ‘Thank You’ to St Nicholas parish for donating £704 from the money raised at their Advent fair. With our fundraising opportunities so limited, this is a very welcome contribution to funds.
After 7 months of closure FML school was finally able to open in January. It took a lot of work – repairing desks, organising staff, buying books and all the children had outgrown their uniforms! Claire Dorcus is exhausted, but it’s wonderful to see the children back at school.
It’s been another difficult year across the world. Here is an update on what’s being happening with our projects in Albania, Romania and Uganda…

Despite all the COVID hardship in Uganda, some positive news from FML Kabarole school. Fantastic news of the latest P7 exam results, taken earlier this year. All 20 students passed, 18 at grade A, 2 at grade B. Well done to the students and the brilliant staff that support them!
Last week we were able to ship boxes full of school shoes, flipflops, clothes and games for the children at FML Kabarole #UgandaSchool. Many thanks to everyone who was kind enough to donate to this special cause #reuse#preloved#reuseclothes
Fantastic news! Care4kids @OpenworkLtd have donated £10,000 to cover teachers’ and staff’s salaries for 6 months at FML Kabarole #UgandaSchool. Thank you for your wonderful support #teachers#learning#africa
On 7 June Uganda went into a 6-week lockdown, once again disrupting FML school. The children are safe, but sadly many people in the community have died or are sick. Claire Dorcus can shop and the older children can harvest produce, supporting the children & guardians in lockdown
A BIG thank you to all the parents at St Nicholas primary school who donated shoes, trainers, clothes and games to go to FML Kabarole school, Uganda. Special thanks to Sarah, for the brilliant job she did organising the collection on behalf of the World Development Group
