The children are so passionate about our new project. Today, as a reward for working so hard, we treated ourselves to some real space food. We enjoyed tasting some space bananas, space strawberries and space ice cream! #teamstphilips@StPhilipCEAP
We learnt that Mae Jemison was not treated fairly at university, but she showed resilience. After training as a doctor, she achieved her dream of being an astronaut and orbited the earth in the space shuttle, Endeavour. #teamstphilips@StPhilipCEAP
Today we have been learning about Mae Jemison, the first African-American lady to go to space. One of our children wanted to take on the role of Mae and make a video diary in our outside classroom. #teamstphilips@StPhilipCEAP
We are thoroughly enjoying learning about space and the solar system, our enthusiasm has been incredible! We are working hard on sharing, taking turns and showing fairness. We loved tidying the house yesterday and making up space stories in the construction area! #teamstphilips
We would like to wish all of our parents and children a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you so much for all of your generous gifts, cards and messages. You are all so kind. Have a wonderful rest and we look forward to seeing you all in January.
After planting the magic seeds in a bowl of sugar, our morning of Christmas crafts began. This afternoon, it was party time! We loved the party games and dancing, and we showed lots of fairness to our friends. Then we had a special visitor....#teamstphilips@StPhilipCEAP
Tomorrow we have to say goodbye to Snowflake, our class elf. Snowflake has surprised us each morning by hiding in new places. This morning he brought magic seeds from the North Pole. We had to plant them in a bowl of sugar, ready for a surprise in the morning! #teamstphilips
We promised you some brilliant sleigh designs! Well, here are just a few of our excellent ideas. I have sent the others off to Father Christmas! @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
Have you seen the news? Santa crashed his sleigh during his practise run. But there is no need to worry! Reception are going to design a new vehicle for Santa to use on Christmas Eve! Watch this space for our fantastic ideas. @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
It is nearly showtime! Here is a sneak peak at our wonderful cast in their fabulous costumes. We can't wait to share our Christmas story with you all...#teamstphilips@StPhilipCEAP
In RE we are learning about the true meaning of Christmas. We discussed how we would be upset if others forgot our birthday, so it is important that we remember Jesus on his birthday. We decided to have an early birthday party for Jesus! #teamstphilips@StPhilipCEAP
We had a wonderful visit from the fire brigade today! We learnt all about keeping ourselves safe and what we should do in a fire emergency. We got to sit in the fire engine and hold the hose. Miss Parsons was dressed up as a firefighter...which we found very funny! #teamstphilips
Today we wore odd socks to remind us that we are all unique and special. As it is World Kindness Day we all thought of ways we could be kind to each other.

We have had a lovely day learning all about Diwali, the Festival of Lights. We shared the story of Rama and Sita, we made Diwali cards and decorated the floor with lovely Rangoli patterns. We learnt an Indian dance and even tried some delicious Indian sweets! #teamstphilips
Last half term, we enjoyed learning how to say different greetings in Spanish. Today we performed our Spanish greeting song for Mrs Bright. She LOVED it! #teamstphilips@stphilipceap#stphilipsSpanishRec
As part of our learning about Bonfire Night, we used a famous painting by Wassily Kandinsky (Concentric Circles) to inspire our own firework art. We even mixed some primary colours to make some autumn-themed circles. #teamstphilips@StPhilipCEAP
