In science we have explored our body and the different senses. We looked at the importance of having taste buds to help us taste our food, our experiment was great fun too! @StphilipsCEAP #Teamstphilips

In science the children enjoyed the cleaning pennies experiment. The children could see how the white vinegar and salt work to make the pennies change from dull to shiny! Well done Year 1😄@StPhilipCEAP #Teamstphilips

Forest school today included a mini beast hunt, we found lots of different creatures. We guided a blinded folded friend through the woods to find a tree using our directional language. @StPhilipCEAP #teamstphilips

In Forest school this week we read the story of the Leaf Thief. We used this as a focus to make a jail using sticks and lots of team work. We also demonstrated great problem solving when creating a marble run game and a waterfall. #teamphilips @StPhilipCEAP

We had a lovely morning in Forest school, it was nice to be out enjoying nature again. We reminded ourselves of the rules we need to follow to keep us safe. We then played in the mud kitchen, made dens and had lots of fun. #Teamstphilips @StPhilipCEAP

The children have had a lovely morning trip walking to the orchard, and they explored the changing of seasons especially in weather and plants. We even managed to pick some apples off the tree! @StPhilipCEAP #Teamstphilips

In English the children have been introduced to the text 'Cave baby' by Julia Donaldson. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting our new characters and following them on their fun adventures! @StPhilipCEAP #Teamstphilip

Today, we were excited to visit our own school library and spend some time looking at all of the new books. We all chose a library book to borrow over the summer. We will need to return these books on our next library visit in Year 1. #teamstphilips @StPhilipCEAP
