What an exciting day we had at RAF Burtonwood Heritage Centre! 🇬🇧 We learned so much throughout the day all about life in Warrington during WWII. The centre staff commented on the class’ superb manners and maturity - we couldn’t be more proud! ⭐️ @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
In RE, we're learning about significant events. We discussed significant events from history and then we created freeze frames to celebrate these events: Barak Obama becoming president; women's right to vote; the end of WWI & the abolition of slavery @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
In PSHE, we debated whether poppy wearing should be compulsory. We focused on listening to others’ points of view and and showing respect, even when we don’t agree with someone else’s ideas @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips We voted overwhelmingly against this as we believe in choice
Today, invitations were sent out to the local businesses inviting them to our Community Christmas Carol Concert! We can’t wait to welcome the wonderful workers in the community to our event to get in the Christmas spirit. ⛄️🎅🏼 @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
We’ve had a very noisy classroom this morning! Y6 have been planning & investigating how voltage affects the loudness of a buzzer. @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
Yesterday, we watched a performance by @altrudrama called ‘The Noise Keepers’ which contributed to our work on anti-bullying. We then took part in a workshop where we acted out scenes, thinking about how to make a noise and stop bullying. @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
In RE, we learned about the early followers of Jesus and how they showed their faith. We acted out some Bible passages that we read about them @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
We began our European Day of Languages by hearing from our Dutch visitor. She taught us some Dutch, told us about life in The Netherlands and even showed us her clogs! @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
It was so lovely to see our past pupils on parents’ evening! It’s always wonderful to hear the successful stories of high school! @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
This morning, we investigated prime and composite numbers. We could clearly tell numbers that were prime as they only had 2 factors: 1 and itself. Great exploration work, Year 6! @StPhilipCEAP#teamstphilips
