In RE we explored the story of “Palm Sunday”, understanding it signifies the beginning of Holy Week. We even made our own palm leaves and acted out the story from the Bible. @StSebastiansPri

This week in literacy we began our new story focus “The Extraordinary Gardener”. We explored a gardener’s tool kit just like one from our story and wrote some amazing independent sentences! @StSebastiansPri
This week our topic has all been about keeping healthy. We explored healthy food and made a healthy picnic for our Teddy Bear. We also looked at how to keep our teeth healthy! @StSebastiansPri
In PE we have been practicing our throwing skills, exploring overarm and underarm throwing. We have also been working on our gross motor skills on our bikes! @StSebastiansPri
This week in maths we have been learning all our number bonds to 10. To help us with this we’ve been using part whole models to split our whole of 10 into two parts! @StSebastiansPri

We’ve been doing lots of counting and adding in our role play toy shop looking at the prices of our toys and counting the correct coins to buy each toy! @StSebastiansPri
In maths we worked in pairs using 5 double sided counters- we took turns to shake the coins in our hand and throw them onto the carpet- spotting the parts within 5 by counting how many red and yellow counters we saw. @StSebastiansPri
We have learned that Pope Francis has declared a Jubilee year. The theme has been called “pilgrims of hope”. We discussed what the word “hope” means, and what gives us hope. We then made our own pictures drawing what gives us hope. @StSebastiansPri
Today we discussed the changes in our environment during winter and how water changes into ice when it’s very cold 🥶 we also explored what makes ice melt back into water, and predicted in our experiment which would melt our ice the quickest! #SebsEYFS@StSebastiansPri
Our new literacy story is “Little Red”. We looked at the illustration and read the text from the first page, discussing how our characters are feeling at the beginning of our story. We then did some amazing independent writing with our sentence snake! 🐍 @StSebastiansPri
