@UCPD_Cal@ThePeoples_Park@Copwatch411 Despite the controversial 911 call, people came together in community for a peaceful art action to pay tribute to People's Park. 🎨🖌🌳
The mural honors a quote from People's Park poet, Julia Vinograd: "There are many hearts buried in People's Park, and part of my own as well."
@UCPD_Cal rashly drove into a closed street where community activists, students, and children were gathered to paint a street mural for #PeoplesPark. Officers were responding to a call that APEX security guards were being "surrounded by people." But no one had threathen them.
I worked at Clorox from 2006-2011. Security guards have always escorted employees to BART & parking garages. I lived near the office and would get a ride home. This ain’t new & they should be ashamed acting like this is a new practice.

Street newspapers provide accessible employment for thousands of people around the world. I don’t know many other work opportunities that are flexible enough to meet so many people’s unique needs. Beautiful new video about the worldwide street paper movement by @_INSP 💛
This is a couple weeks old so there may be an update, but a devastating real life example of people ignoring fact that unhoused/untraditionally housed folks are our neighbors, and the city’s ongoing criminalization of these neighbors from @stspiritnews https://t.co/QpgC1H8XKK
