M5 biologists’ practiced their confidence and risk taking skills, learning about the anatomy of the mammalian digestive system first-hand by dissecting a rat. They were amazed by how long the small intestine is relative to body size, and the large size of the rat’s caecum.

L5 biologists carried out a dissection of a lamb’s heart to learn about the structure and function of a mammalian heart and associated blood vessels.  The pupils found it very interesting and were amazed by the complexity of the 3-dimensional structure.

“Mango" the biology department rescue Yemen chameleon shows his stealth to catch singing crickets, with his hydrostatically controlled tongue that is attached to the front of his jaw and can extend up to 3 times his own body length.
