ADVENT STORIES - DAY ONE
Today marks the start of St Mary’s Advent Stories. A different story will be released each day at 5pm on our YouTube channel so snuggle up with the family and enjoy a daily bedtime story read by one of our #awesome teachers. Enjoy! https://t.co/x2Bbdgz5zv
Year 1 have been placing measuring cylinders around the school for our science experiment. We are hoping for rain as we are looking to measure the amount of rain in different areas around the school. Here are a few of the places we have put them.
In Robin’s class we have been looking at the windy weather. We organised these pictures from a calm wind all the way up to hurricane force wind. They could use the images to show how the wind was progressively getting stronger.
The results are in! In Woodpeckers we are starting to see the effects of the different drinks on the eggshell’s calcium carbonate. Imagine what the drinks would do to your teeth!
We have begun an experiment in Woodpeckers to investigate the effects of different liquids upon the enamel of our teeth. We have left eggs to soak and will be predicting what the liquids will do to the egg’s shells. I wonder what we will discover?!
During DT in Woodpeckers this week we investigated how much sugar there was in 100g of some of our snacks. Would you believe a penguin bar has 8 times as much sugar as raspberries?!
