48 hours. One room in Amsterdam. Musicians, developers, and sound obsessives building on, breaking, and remixing Stable Audio 3.0. The Official ADE Lab Hackathon with @MusicHackspace starts now.

[Stable Audio @stableaudio]

We’re back with @MusicHackspace, and this time we’re in Amsterdam for @ADE_NL.

We’re handing you Stable Audio 3.0 and seeing what you do with it.

The challenge is simple. Build a tool other producers can use.

That melody stuck in your head deserves better than your voice memos folder. 🎙️

Dylan Ho, Gilberto Tumangday, and Le-Tao Li built a studio agent that turns a hum into the foundation of your session, powered by Stable Audio 3.0. Watch how it works 👇

What if making video-based world models smaller isn't just about better compression, but about making their representations easier to predict?

Recent approaches to video generation explore building scenes from coarse to fine. The first few tokens capture the big picture, like a person playing a guitar, while later tokens progressively add visual details.

Our Interactive Research team just published SemanTok, which takes this idea further. By making those early tokens more semantically meaningful, we give the model a clearer understanding of what's happening in a scene, making the representation easier to predict and video generation more efficient.

The result: a model using SemanTok matches or beats the performance of a model more than three times its size.

Many thanks to The Information for sitting down with our Executive Chairman Sean Parker and CEO @premakkaraju to talk about our work building tools for music professionals.

[The Information @theinformation]

This week's must-read: Two years ago, a Sean Parker–led investing group took command of Stability AI, a onetime darling of AI images. With the backing of the major record labels, Stability now hopes to convince musicians to fully embrace a technology that has unnerved parts of entertainment.

You know the moment: mid-session, losing time scrolling a sample library.

Sept. 30th, we're skipping the library. Generate samples in key and in tempo with the Stable Audio plugin, then process them into something original.

Every generation is powered by a commercially-safe model trained on licensed material, so what you make is yours to use and distribute freely. Join us.

[Stable Audio @stableaudio]

We'll cover:
→ Getting the plugin installed and mapped to your workflow
→ Translating the sound in your head into a precise prompt
→ Getting a usable take in plain language without technical guesswork
→ Studio techniques: layering, resampling, and processing your AI stems

[Stable Audio @stableaudio]

Stop pulling from the same sample library as everyone else. Build one that's entirely your own.

We're hosting a deep dive into the Stable Audio plugin: prompt-based sound generation that runs directly inside your DAW.

Most drum machines can't keep up with a live performance.

Team StableGroove fixed that at the Montreal @MusicHackspace Hackathon: a real-time AI drum machine on Stable Audio 3.0, generating fresh samples locally without breaking the rhythm.

Watch Nav Kumar break it down.

Color consistency is a persistent friction point in production. Our interactive research team just returned from The 19th European Conference on Computer Vision (@eccvconf), where they presented new work focused on solving just this: ensuring colors match reliably across shots and AI-generated reference photos.

[Stability AI @StabilityAI]

In their words, “It's always great to be at one of the premier conferences in computer vision and, more importantly, to have so much of the community in one place. Beyond the papers and talks, conferences like ECCV are a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new people, exchange ideas, and see what everyone has been working on.”

Our winners:

🥇 StableGroove: a real-time drum machine that generates new samples without drifting off the grid.

🥈 Unstable DAW: an agentic production environment that manages the full track-building process.

🥉 Jam Buddy: a conversational partner for producers.

48 hours in Montreal with @MusicHackspace. One direction. Build community-facing tools for musicians using Stable Audio 3.0.

[Stable Audio @stableaudio]

Two days, one challenge, a room full of musicians and coders pushing Stable Audio 3.0 into territory we hadn’t mapped out yet.

[Stable Audio @stableaudio]

Intimacy, not distance. That's the future of creative AI: smaller models, running locally, becoming integral to the creative process.

That's the takeaway from @MusicHackspace founder JB Thiebaut at the hackathon in Montreal, where hackers built on Stable Audio 3.0.
