@winniesun A15a. Iโve been jotting notes for my next book so Iโm sure Iโll write a new one. Iโm just not sure when. It does take time and dedication and right now, Iโm focused on my online courses. https://t.co/nUBtZPZFYh #WinnieSun#ReworkWork
@winniesun A15. My book, UNBIAS: Addressing Unconscious Bias at Work, is available everywhere books are sold โ Audible, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, independent bookstores โ its available in hardcover, audio and ebook format. https://t.co/hpXInIzO6f #WinnieSun
@winniesun A14. You definitely need to write your book and no one is gonna promote your book like you will, but you donโt need to edit or publish. It's great to have a publisher help with marketing but they are not going to be as committed or have as high an interest as you will. #WinnieSun
@winniesun A12. Definitely will double down on the idea that you should put your book in as many formats as possible. I know people who purchased my ebook and the audiobook. Who doesn't like options? #WinnieSun
@winniesun A11. If youโre going to go through the trouble of writing a book you might as well put it in as many formats as possible. I had people straight up tell me they were not going to buy my book until it was available in audio format. #WinnieSun
@winniesun A10a. I LOVE my cover and it was my first choice but I needed to review other options and try to keep an open mind. I also asked for feedback from others in my circle and they all agreed that this should be the cover. #winniesun#reworkwork
@winniesun A10a. You really want to be honest with the person designing because you will be stuck with this cover forever so if you don't love it, say so.
@winniesun A10. Giving color preferences and looking at other book covers to provide examples of what you like as well as what you don't like will be helpful to the person designing on your behalf. #winniesun
@winniesun A9. Luckily I had an editor who edited my book, but it still has typos. I also asked friends and family to read the drafts but even with all of that, we still found typos after my book was published. :( #winniesun#reworkwork
@winniesun A8. Sometimes reading another authors content on the subject can be helpful because it will get you thinking and spark thoughts that will get your mind back on track to how you want to describe the content and what your point of view is. #winniesun#reworkwork
Please give a warm #WinnieSun welcome to @StaceyAGordon! Thanks so much for sharing your incredible insights and advice with us today Stacey! #Tweetchat
@winniesun A7a. I recommend taking yourself away from distraction because when you are not in the mood to write everything will distract you. The dishes in the sink, the toilet that needs cleaning, rearranging your closet and organizing your garage. LOL
A7. I had a publisher deadline so I selected a few weekends, booked a hotel room, got myself out of my house and away from distraction. That allowed me to write when I wanted, write late into the night without disturbing others and write without others disturbing me. #winniesun
Q7. Life gets busy, but the writing must go on! โ๏ธ What are the most effective tips for writing around a busy schedule? How do you create achievable goals and plans to reach them? How do you remain diligent and keep yourself on schedule / avoid procrastination? #WinnieSun
@winniesun A6. I'm the wrong person to ask for tips on outlines. LOL I was the person that didn't turn in outlines in English class. But you do need a plan so I did a brain dump of ideas and then categorized those ideas. I used note cards and paper to physically move the words around.
@winniesun A5. You don't always know that there will be demand for your book. You may want to publish a book and make money, that isn't the reason you are publishing. You might want to get specific content out into the world and if that's the case then you know who you are speaking to.
@winniesun A4a. Authenticity has definitely had a great impact on my book because once people read it, they recommend it to others. Also once people read it and they meet me in person, they see that the book isn't a stuffy read and I'm not a stuffy person either. #winniesun#reworkwork
@winniesun A4. I wanted to create a business book that people would actually want to read, and even more important, that they would want to finish. I wanted to keep it short and make it easy to read. #winniesun#reworkwork
