Hey, @nickgillespie: didn’t see a link to WSJ’s longevity article in Roundtable show notes. I found it, but (of course) it’s paywalled.
Pls point us to this Eugene Sturley (sp?) demographer/statistician fellow. You mentioned his great Substack but no idea how to spell his name.
Happy to report that an update was finally released a week later which fixed the in-app purchase bug.
And they managed to make it happen without me even sharing my personal info via DM. 🙄
Hey @audible_com when will the iOS app be fixed?
In-app purchases started failing Nov 26 (error code 102450).
Logged out & back in. Nope.
Deleted & reinstalled app per cust svc advice. TWICE. Nope.
Now, can’t even use credits—no buying options at all. Tap to refresh does zip.
My @reason roundtable quotes of the year:
“You really don’t have a soul” –@petersuderman to @kmanguward re her pizza choices
Close 2nd: “You’re not my real dad” –KMW to @MattWelch
3rd: All things satan –@nickgillespie
Thanks for making me LOL at least once per episode.

@audiblesupport In-app cust svc chat 11/27 (day two of problem):
“…many customers are facing the same issue due to technical glitch and our concerned team is working on it to resolve it asap.”
Is that true?
If so, when will it be fixed?
How does a DM help?
An answer here would be great!
@audiblesupport@audible_com iPhone 13 Pro Max
Most current version of Audible app (obviously, since I deleted and reinstalled it twice)
iOS is up to date
@audible_com Useless when the purchasing function stops working in iOS app and customer service just says “Sorry, it’s happening to lots of customers, delete and reinstall, here’s a free credit for your inconvenience” (which never arrives, naturally).
@taylorson@ArcherMayor Do you have any idea why they did not have you redo the entire back catalogue?
The five books between ‘Chat’ and ‘Three Can Keep a Secret’ (2008-2012) are basically unlistenable without your reading.
Guess I’ll have to go the print route on those.
So frustrating.
