Lately a lot of #Web2 loyalists I know have been hating on #Web3 & #Web3Community. I honestly think the snark is based on fear of the unknown. This has inspired me to post a beginner’s thread on Web3 that even a primary school student could comprehend. Why? Because #WAGMI ☀️

•#Web1 = Read (like an online library)
•#Web2 = Read + Write (social media)
•#Web3 = Read + Write + Own
(a shared playground where we all own the toys)

7. Why Do People Care About #Web3? 4 REASONS…1. Fairness: No single company is in charge. 2. Ownership: u truly own your digital stuff. 3. Rewards: u can earn by helping out, not just spend. 4. Freedom: u can connect with anyone in the world without asking permission. 🙌

6. Smart Contracts are like robot vending machines. You put in the right thing (like money) & the robot automatically gives you what was promised. No teacher, banker, or middleman needed. 💪😎

5. (NFTs) r like special digital trading cards. Only 1 person can truly own each 1, even if people copy pictures of it. Your name is written in the blockchain notebook to prove it’s urs. Imagine if you had the only real Pikachu card & everyone could see it’s urs That’s an NFT. 🦄

4. Money on the Internet (Crypto) 🪙🔐
Instead of dollars or coins in your piggy bank, Web3 uses crypto (like Bitcoin or Ethereum). It’s money that lives inside the blockchain notebook. You don’t need a bank to use it. And you can send it to anyone, anywhere in the world, FAST.

3. What’s a Blockchain?
It’s like a magical notebook where every time someone writes something in it, everyone can see it. Once it’s written, no one can erase or change it. Everyone has the same copy of the notebook, so it’s very fair. 👏

2. Web3 is like a new kind of playground where everyone owns the toys together (not just the company), the rules are written down where no one can cheat & you can even earn tokens or rewards for playing nicely & helping others. This playground is built on blockchains.

1. The Internet Today (Web2) - Sites like YouTube, TikTok, or games are run by big companies.
They make the rules, keep your information & decide what you can or can’t do. It’s like going to a playground where someone else owns all the toys. You can play, but they set the rules.
