@Firefly4500@nyjrb90 Tuesdays there's no live drives for those who don't pay. The Tuesday live drive is a explorer/YouTube membership exclusive. Monday's there's no live drives at all.
@andrecb1@ChasGumede81 I know but isn't that why James Hendry implied that even though YouTube takes 30% of the subscription, with other cost factors involved via the app it's more beneficial to be a member on YouTube?
@ChasGumede81@andrecb1 Impala is more affordable but I don't use the app, I use YouTube. This is why Im saying if the subscription reflected the cheapest Explorer option - more would do it.
@Teri_In_HN@andrecb1 This is exactly what I'm getting at. Everything is turning into a subscription and it seems not a lot to ask but it is when everything else is a subscription. The support I can offer is either a smaller amount or through adverts.
@andrecb1 What is stopping me at least, is the cost. You can charge more & have a handful of subscribers who can afford to make the extra expense or you can charge lower and have several more subscribers because the price appeals. The cheapest YouTube tier is not within budget for many.
@andrecb1 Most of us do watch WildEarth a lot more - us being one, but it doesn't mean we would give up our existing subscriptions because they come with so many other benefits. Ultimately if the Youtube subscriptions reflected the same as explorers lowest tier it would be more appealing.
@andrecb1 I wanted to add that the current price you are asking for is similar to that of other services (prime etc) that provide a wide variety of channels and on demand content, thousands of options. It would be more competitive to offer at a cheaper rate as you have less to offer.
@andrecb1 For us in the UK we are in the midst of a cost of living crisis. Most can't afford to heat their homes & groceries have shot up vastly. Add on existing subscriptions, it's just not something we can prioritise. If the lower tier option was around the $4.99 mark we could support.
It was heartbreaking to hear of the passing of Chela the Queen of the Nkuhuma Pride. We've enjoyed following her the last few months on @WildEarth as I've been ill in bed. I just had to make a tribute for her. Rest in peace beautiful. Painted in Procreate. #wildearth
@WildEarth Thank you for explaining that this isn't a mistake. I will go back to watching on Plex in that case. I would have considered the membership on YTube but it's nearly double the cost of most standard YouTube subscriptions & just not affordable for us with everything else going up.
@susmeds71 I had started watching on YouTube as the advert timings on Plex would cause us to miss stuff but today my YouTube experience was disrupted by both YouTube & WildEarths own adverts, effecting the experience significantly so now considering going back to Plex if it isn't an error.
@WildEarth I watched the Town Hall. I don't recall them saying that. I don't know if you realise but we now have double adverts on YouTube. We are getting the forced adverts from YouTube then yours. We've just had to sit through YouTube adverts to then get your 2 minutes forced adverts.
@WildEarth I don't know if you realise but you've accidently stopped free users from being able to view On Safari for free. We can see it's scheduled but we can't watch it on there, yet it's still available on Plex for free.
