This is the Permission Society at its worst. California government is blocking people from rebuilding their homes following the Palisades fire.
Permit reform is possible. The Permit Freedom Act is a powerful way for citizens to keep their government in check. Clear criteria for permits, real deadlines, right to appeal. It works in Arizona. It can work in your state, too. https://t.co/NVma9bt5B9
If compulsory DEI training at a university is actually illegal under state law, shouldn't a professor subjected to it have the right to sue? Well, of course he should.
That's what fellow Christian philosopher @Dr_OwenAnderson, in an important case, is doing. 🧵
Appreciated @JonahDispatch article today on @thedispatch "In this way, I think extreme anti-Mormonism may be the most reactionary form of hatred in America, because hating people solely for what they believe is the closest we get to ideas that powered the wars of religion in ...

So happy to work somewhere that I don't have to be afraid to advocate for change. Protecting Liberty? It's what we do! @GoldwaterInst advancing liberty since 1988.
Last week the Arizona Attorney Regulation Advisory Committee unanimously opposed @GoldwaterInst effort to make it easier for those barred in other states to become barred in Arizona. I don't think @WisconsinLaw or @mulaw or @StateBarofWI would be pleased with this assessment.
For the 21st year, the @AZStateBar has used bar dues from its mandatory membership to fund an issue in Arizona Attorney magazine on the arts because they "believe the arts to be a powerful tool that can deepen and sharpen analysis, legal or otherwise."

A 13-year-old in MO made a "rifle" out of Dr. Pepper cans & posted it on Snapchat off-campus, with no threats.
The school found no danger—yet suspended him for 3 days. Free speech? Not in this district.
His mom is suing. Goldwater is right there w/ her: https://t.co/hwXVMVLuXi
Cities are no different. Learn to budget properly: don't cut critical programs first, learn to live within your means, and expand and develop only as you can. Do not ask taxpayers for more money when you can't figure that out.

Watching the @CityofPhoenixAZ council meeting on the new TPT tax, which disappointingly, passed. A few things. (1) Taxes are NOT revenue. Revenue is earned by providing goods or serves that people want. Taxes are mandatory fees paid regardless of any services rendered.

(2) Government bodies often claim they must cut critical programs if taxes aren't increased, but that is not so. Businesses adjust their budgets and prioritize essential items when revenue drops with expansion and non-essential projects being cut first.

AZ needs REAL leadership on water policy that bases decisions on law and science, not manufactured crises developed by bureaucrat's political agendas.

AZ's water policy is driving up housing costs and stalling growth. The ADWR admits that 98% of groundwater needed is available (over the next 100 years) but they are still shutting down new housing TODAY. This does nothing to help water conservation!
