born and raised in Utah but not your typical Utahn. Went to HS & college in Arizona. Loved it! See the world much differently than many friends & neighbors. 🙃
Today, we honor generations of America's veterans – patriots who have stood on the frontlines of freedom and kept the light of liberty shining bright around the world.
May we all strive to be worthy of their sacrifices for us.
The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, but hear me when I say: the light of America's promise will always burn bright.
"Do not despair. This is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves. This is a time to organize, to mobilize, and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice, and the future that we all know we can build together." - Kamala Harris
“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Donald Trump — the twice impeached former president, Jan. 6 coup leader, convicted felon, adjudicated sexual abuser, and man who mismanaged the 2020 economic implosion and coronavirus disaster that killed more than 1 million people in this country — has convinced American voters to give him another term in the White House.

Kamala Harris didn't lose, America did.
As a nation, we collectively failed her—and in doing so we failed girls and women, the LGBTQ community, people of color, Muslims, Jewish people, immigrants, the sick, the poor, the elderly, the people of Ukraine, and Gaza, and the planet.
It's unthinkable, that instead of being able to celebrate a beautiful, hopeful new chapter in the story of this nation with a leader who appealed to the best of our natures—we will instead be holding a postmortem for democracy as we enter our 250th year, stewarded by a malevolent sociopath who despises empathy and shuns the law.
I truly thought we were better than this, that our shared humanity would show up. I thought we would reject this hatred and ugliness once and for all.
I hate being wrong about the majority of the people of this nation.
I don't know what's ahead. All I know is that good-hearted human beings are more necessary now than ever.
We did all that we could to avoid this moment, but now that it's here we'll just have to decide who we will be.
There is no way to comprehend or measure how grievous an error this is, but the only thing the decent people of this nation can do is wake up tomorrow and fight like hell for what we still believe is worth the fight, and we will.
I'll be doing that with whoever has the strength to join me.
I'm mourning the country we could have been and the one we apparently are—but I refuse to give up believing that compassion is the right path, that diversity makes us better, and that love is greater than fear.
This is for all the women who will come together and win the election for Kamala Harris. Send this to every mother that you know.
Thank you to the talented Jennifer Garner for lending her voice in helping us get this message across to voters.
Trump basically said tonight: LOOK AT ME AMERICA. LOOK DAMMIT! DON’T LET THE MEDIA SANE-WASH ME. I AM A SICK TWISTED EXHAUSTED DEMENTED 78 YEAR OLD HITLER-WANNABE WEIRDO PSYCHOPATH RACIST PREDATOR WHO HATES AMERICA AND WHO WILL DESTROY YOUR LIFE. GOT IT? GOOD!

I’m a NYT-bestselling Trump biographer, and this is the culmination of what I learned over a decade.
What do you think—any chance we could get this to 50K RETWEETS by Election Day?
Kamala Harris: We cannot despair. We cannot despair. The nature of a democracy is such that I think there's a duality. On the one hand, there's an incredible strength when our democracy is intact. An incredible strength in what it does to protect the freedoms and rights of its people. Oh, there's great strength in that. And it is very fragile. It is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it. And so that's the moment we're in. And I say do not despair because in a democracy, as long as we can keep it, in our democracy the people, every individual has the power to make a decision about what this will be. And so let's not feel powerless. Because then we have been defeated. And that's not our character as the American people. We are not one to be defeated. We rise to a moment and we stand on broad shoulders of people who have fought this fight before for our country. And in many ways let us look at the challenge then that we are being presented and not be overwhelmed by it. The baton is now in our hands, to fight for, not against, but for this country we love.
@CollinRugg I love how this police officer handled this. That guy in the bike thinks he is so entitled and above the law. Great job to the police officer who calmly dealt with him.
Obama: John McCain. I don't want to over romanticize our relationship. John was conservative to put it mildly. He ran against me in 2008 and talked about me on the campaign trail. You know what, he understood that some values transcend party. He believed an honest argument and hearing the views of other people. He didn't demonize political opponents. Do you remember at the end of the campaign when a woman at one of his rallies said, you can't vote for that Arab, he's not even a citizen and he said hold on, I have had a lot of disagreements with Senator Obama but I served with him, he is a good man and an honorable man and a patriotic American, shut it down. He knew that if we get in the habit of bending the truth to suit political expediency or party orthodoxy, democracy can't work. The man had character.
The People’s House is a song that celebrates this beautiful place that we call home, from sea to shining sea.
The truth matters. And the truth is on election day I’ll be voting for @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz because I believe in the power of we, not of me. I’ve written a song reminding us that out of many, we are still one.
