On Tuesday, both Solana Testnet and the Solana Alpenglow Cluster were restarted.

⚡ Alpenglow Cluster: 85+ node operators got it up and running in just one day.

⏳ Solana Testnet: still down.

Rent reduction is live on mainnet-beta.

Step 1 of SIMD-0437 activated at epoch 1028, the first of five feature gates on the road to cutting Solana's storage cost per byte by 90% overall.

Step 1 drops lamports per byte 6,960 → 6,333. Each remaining gate activates only after state growth checks out at the current level. We are stepping down to the final 696 safely, not on a fixed schedule. Follow here for an accurate timeline.

A safeguard gate (SIMD-0438) can restore the legacy value if state growth becomes a problem.

A provider network outage took my Solana validator offline while I was at a doctor's appointment on Monday.

Solana Node Manager automatically failed over to the spare server. Network failures are among the hardest scenarios to handle safely, and this one worked exactly as designed.

This is exactly why I built SNM.

One click almost brought my Solana validator down today.

During a DoubleZero upgrade, I confirmed a some service restart and didn't realize the validator had stopped.

Fortunately, Solana Node Manager detected the issue just in time and automatically recovered it.

After running on Solana mainnet for more than 6 months, today it proved its value once again.
