From a meteorological viewpoint this storm was a huge disappointment. Just think of all the perfectly good snow days we missed out on because it snowed on a Saturday.

So far today we have picked up 1.46 inches of rain, pushing our storm total to 9.23 inches. In an average year, KC receives 38.86 inches. This means we have picked up about a quarter of our annual yearly precipitation in less than a week.

We recorded a low of 28 F today at the Staley weather center, making this our first freeze of the season.

Staley received a total of 7.25 inches of rain from yesterday's storms. That puts us at 13.82 inches for the month. Normal for August? 3.89"

2016 Recap: The highest temperature in 2016 was 102 degrees (June) and the low was -13 (Dec). We picked up 50.51 inches of precipitation.

Our December stats: our highest temp was 65 and our low was a balmy -13. We picked up a total of 1.12 inches of precipitation.

Wow! We picked up 1.56 inches of rain today here at the Staley weather center. A real toad strangler.

October stats: our highest temp was 87 and our low was 33. We had 2.19 inches of rain. We did have a frost, but still looking for a freeze

A chilly start! We hit 39 at the Staley weather center and also saw some patchy light frost.

Our September stats: the highest temp was 93 and the low was 46. We picked up 5.28 inches of rain at Staley.
