#teachers Stand aside for a while and leave room for learning, observe carefully what children do, and then, if you have understood well, perhaps teaching will be different from before. ~ Loris Malaguzzi
@DennisDill I teach pre school and my parents understand that if I do not answer it's becasue I am with thier child. They do not mind waiting for me to call back when I am free. My school does not allow us to use personal cells to contact families. #edchat
@tomwhitby I use an app called Tadpoles to connect with my families each day and everyone is very happy about it. Most have the app on thier phones but you can access from a computer too. I can send photos, notes, lessons and private messages. #Edchat
@JeremyDBond @sgthomas1973 @Alyssa_Kremer @msiwanicki I work at a private school and we are not allowed to use our cell phones to contact families. We have to use the school/class phones. We also have strict social media policies concerning families. #Edchat
@drbulentdogan Setting aside time to invest in your PLN is key to building a productive one. If you are surrounding yourself with people and organizations that have the same interests and passions as you, then you'll want that time to fully engage in thier posts. #CUIN7303
@AndreaManka1 If you respect a person or organization already, you can check out who they follow to find new ideas for people to follow as well. #CUIN7303
@e_prosperie I'm a PreK teacher so I follow NAECY (National Ass. for the Education of Young Children) to get ideas of Developmentally Appropriate Practices and links to wonderful articles. #CUIN7303
A1: A personal learning network (PLN) is a way to connect, share and learn with people & organizations who are passionate about the same things as you. #CUIN7303
@AndreaManka1 I agree that you can gain new perspectives. One of our readings talked about PLNs having the ability to become narrow - but if you are mindful of that, you can definitely gain new perspectives! #CUIN7303
