@paintandashes@FIAFarnborough Sadly, the airfield has been there since 1908, and the airshow has become a major part of the aviation industry. At least it’s only once every two years and I don’t think you’ll be too upset by our little team.
First display of the Stampe Formation Team for 2024. See you at Stow Maries for the Wings and Wheels display. Come and see us at the flight line and get your free stickers!

I love the Christmas card sent to the team by our ace photographer, Clare Cargill from Old Warden. Thanks Clare, and looking forward to more excellent images from the 24 season! #airshows
Congratulations to our team mate and good friend, Stu Goldspink, for being awarded the Darrol Stinton memorial trophy by the HAA for a lifelong contribution to vintage aviation. Excellent effort 👍🏻
It’s winter maintenance time. Compressions are all tip top, oil change has been done and the air bottle for the starter is out for its 3 yearly pressure test. No major jobs this year, but as ever, plenty of tidying up to do.
Coming reasonably close in the spot landing competition at Bidford during the Spirit of Midland fly-in but such was the level of competition we weren’t even in the top 5! More practice required before next year.
When the rain starts and the nights draw in, it’s important to remember those bright, sunny days of summer! Already looking forward to the airshow 2024 season.
This is it! After a fabulously enjoyable season, we are about to depart the SE for the SW and our final display of the year at Sidmouth airshow tomorrow evening at 17:00. We have performed to over 100,000 people this season and are looking forward to seeing a few more on Friday!
