@LoriHWard@BerthoudSurvey Yep! The scenarios will be highly dependent on state income tax and property tax revenues & possible one time cash available to assist back fill ... Not to mention state retirement systems in several states. A total train wreck in CA & Illinois...
@TSDReformWatch Good example of what people do when they think they will not be held accountable for tax payer $’s. Pure unadulterated greed at a highly organized level with a bunch of people involved! Very sad & pathetic!
@TSDReformWatch I don’t think you have seen anything yet. Money talks! No regard for the Eco system of a community. “Just show me the money” attitude & make sure those high cost special ed students remain in the non- charter schools. A study on Students leaving charters after October ct. Why
@TSDReformWatch Sadly, redoing the formula without a plan for significant new revenue is like moving the chairs around on the Titanic & hold harmless is strictly a dirty band aid! Effective school funding must include an adequate revenue plan plus a new formula!
@TSDReformWatch TABOR is a huge taxpayer equity issue for CO because of poor funding of our public schools by the state requiring local districts to campaign for local mill levy overrides. School funding is based on zip code wealth & the value of a local mill. Vote YES on CC to fix this!
@TSDReformWatch The good news is Thompson is moving forward today in a very productive way with the resources to get the job done in spite of those challenging times because the community stepped up! A great case study in public education politics!
And to think that the board voted 4-3 to approve the building of High Plains that included a recommendation to add 2 classrooms & utilities rough in for 2 modulars paid for out of reserves at a cost of an additional $1 plus million. Healthy boards R critical
@TSDReformWatch Stu is an outstanding individual with integrity & character. He will be a great board member! Given his involvement recently with Thompson Master Planning he is already up to speed on important issues in Thompson.
@TSDReformWatch I have often argued that the Eco system of a local community has been disrupted significantly in a number of ways as a result of choice & charters. A sense of community has been altered significantly. At the same time, school districts have not always been particularly nimble
@TSDReformWatch How many times does this have to be said. Schools districts are bound by an equalization formula for General Fund funding ..mill levy overrides can be a positive if based on mills. Bond issues are impacted positively by higher AV because it takes fewer mills...
@TSDReformWatch Very proud & pleased the Thompson community stepped up to support the schools. Critical program issues are being addressed now in support of students & staff! As a Thompson taxpayer I am very pleased to be a part of adding value to the work that is now being done by TSD!
Great to see Thompson students involved “privately” in getting the facts out regarding the proposed bond & mill levy questions for the Thompson School District. A “YES” vote is critical for the health of our Thompson community!
At High Plains tonight listening to the students regarding the generosity they practiced & learned from their class “Give Next”. We are in good hands with this next generation ... so proud of the students, their teacher & the Principal! Well done presentation!
