Labor has betrayed our senior Australians. After paying insurance premiums all their lives now those 65 and older are facing huge changes because of Labor’s bad budget.

The changes to private health insurances rebate for Australians aged 65 and over will mean increases up to $807 more per year (for singles) or up to $1,614 more per year (for a couple).

With many senior Australians battling cost of living pressures this is a slap in the face to older Australians who have worked hard all their lives and paid their premiums.

Labor changes mean many will be worrying about how to find the money while worrying about their healthcare needs. Sadly, many will have to discard their health cover insurance and become patients to the already strained public system.

This is just another example of Labor’s toxic budget.
