Maybe it's worth noting that the Japanese only took over the Island of Taiwan in 1895 because China lost the Sino-Japanese war and ceded the island, and other territory, to Japan as per the 马关条约（Treaty of Shimonoseki）.

Maybe that's why after the Soviet disintegrated, the Russians thought they'd be "pulled back into the international order", and they even asked to join NATO.

Now we know that the US pulled Germany and Japan closer, so that they could be used as American bulwarks.

@hiroe_yoshida 日本人内心只是怕中国人和他们一样，那么中国强大了就会向日本复仇。有这样想法的中国人确实也很多，但中国的精英阶层并不是这样。这就是中日文化的重要区别。

但正是日本人内心的这种恐惧，会让他们再次走上覆灭之路。大部分日本人没有邪恶到该死，但很可能会陪葬。
