Roadworks Update: The utility company Cadent have confirmed the planned closure of Lower Street - scheduled for 28th October - has been delayed until Monday, 6th January 2025.

The junction of the Silver Street/Chapel Hill (B1383) has been shut to allow utility company Cadent to fix a gas leak in the area. The emergency closure could last until Tuesday, October 22nd. For further information call 0800 389 8000.

A flood alert issued by the Environment Agency last night has been updated and is still in place this morning: "flooding is possible" along the Stansted Brook catchment, "be prepared", though "no property flooding is expected".
