Per @SCSD_401 the lockdown Stanwood High School and Lincoln Hill has been lifted. A modified lockdown was initiated after a suspicious sounds in the area were heard. The sounds were determined to be a transformer that failed near Hwy-532 and 72nd Ave Nw.

Stanwood PD is in the area north of 272nd looking for a car theft suspect. Suspect is on foot in the area. Suspect is described as a white male wearing a white shirt with red sleeves, red shorts, and lots of tattoos. If observed contact 911. K9 will be out shortly.

UPDATE 8:00PM - Snohomish County Roads has finished initial clean up. The road will remain closed through the morning commute hours on 01/07/2022.

Traffic Advisory- Pioneer Hwy south of town is shut down due to a small mudslide. Snohomish County Roads is on the way. Pioneer is shut down on the east end at Norman Rd and at 28th Ave W on the west side.

SR 532 at Mp8, east of Stanwood, is fully blocked due to a multiple car fatality collision. Several parties are possibly injured and unfortunately there is one deceased. Our hearts go out to those affected by this tragic incident. Troopers and aid are on scene.

Last week Kelly with Back the Blue Snohomish County brought her son by the Police Department and dropped off treat bags for all of the @StanwoodPD officers. Deputy Schrader loved the treats and meeting a new friend!
