I have lost faith in Safdarjung Government Hospital.
The hospital told us @Wangchuk66’s potassium had dropped to 2.9, describing it as alarming and life-threatening. Yet, in its public health bulletin, it conveniently omitted the actual number, referring only to "decreasing potassium levels." When after 10 hours and repeated requests, they allowed us to take samples of his blood at 10.30 pm, an independent laboratory test reported 3.5, well within the normal range.
Despite repeated requests, the hospital has refused to discharge him or allow us to shift him to a private hospital of our choice. With around 30 police personnel stationed on our floor and well over 100 across the hospital, our movement is severely restricted. It is not medical care. It is illegal detention.
If anything happens to Sonam, the hospital authorities and the government must bear full responsibility.
I have therefore moved the High Court and sought an urgent hearing today, praying for permission to shift Sonam before his health deteriorates further. No family should have to fight the system simply to choose where their loved one receives medical care.

Still Alive, though not kicking….

Some 7,000 people gathered at Jantar Mantar today from morning to evening. Leaders of various social and political movements spoke in support. A clear indication of how effective this movement is can be judged from the number of trolls in the comments below. Over the years I’ve seen that this number is directly proportional to the impact. I’ll be so sad & dejected the day they go missing. Thank you, my success-o-meter, for your hard work.

IN PRINCIPLE UNDERSTANDING REACHED...
We made significant progress this evening in our talks with the Govt.
MHA, Apex & KDA leaders of Ladakh had a broad consensus on restoring democracy with a tailor made legislative body that will have executive, financial & law making powers and have safeguards under article 371 of the constitution. Elected leader of the legislative body will have overall control over the Chief Secretary and rest of bureaucracy. In due course Ladakh will be accorded full statehood when it has enough revenue of its own to support the operational expenses of salaries, pensions etc.

Taking him for a health checkup as per the strong recommendations of our family doctor. He will be under medical observation for 36 hours in a good hospital!

When the #SGI/ #ASGI casually seek dates 7, 15, even 21 days away for no rhyme or reason at the #SupremeCourtofIndia, they are not just being insensitive, inhumane and cruel to @Wangchuk66, who is now in jail for 135 days. They are damaging the cause of nation-building.

If patriots are rewarded with jail, witch-hunts and punishment, how will it motivate youngsters to stay back and serve the nation?

Already in the last 10 years, over 1.6 million Indians have renounced citizenship, and millions more have left.

Let our actions inspire the youth to believe in our nation’s bright future, not fill their hearts with despair, despondency and hopelessness!!

Centre asks for an adjournment in Sonam Wangchuk’s habeas corpus case:

ASG KM Nataraj: can we keep it next week? Next Monday?

Justice Aravind Kumar: what happened? Any progress? We made a suggestion on the last date (to reconsider his detention on health grounds).

Nataraj: he is getting best of the treatment.

Justice PB Varale: issues are there. You are also not denying. He is making complaints of health issues. On the last day we made a suggestion.
