Here's a quick preview of Virtual3D's documentation. It is built using html, so will be online on our site, and a local version. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3D
You can now import saved 3d particle fxs, and assign them to GameNodes(or derived) properties or just them as ParticleNodes. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3D
Added ribbon based sparks to finish the effect. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3D - the impact point will be user definable btw, it's just in the centre for the preview.
Really cool upgrade, the force field particle type can now be based on an arbitary(any shape) mesh, so now you can add shield effects to actual shield models etc. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3D - here's a test
Improved the shield fx more. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3d - now includes an impact set of 'electric sparks' and random electric bolts running across the shield with the hex pattern.
Added fourth unique particle type, this one is for animated shield type effects. It's restricted to spherical shapes at the moment, but I'm looking into it working on arbitary models also. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3d It has a lot of paramters(See right of the gui).
Started work on the 3D particle fx editor. It supports billboards, ribbons and lightning particle types so far. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3D - it will feature loads of templates so you can add + tweak when needed.
Been working on the engine's installer. It is a single exe containing everything, that internally uses Virtual3D's own GUI system. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3D
Strange secret NHS Technology? This was peterbury unit, colchester. They never said a word about it, and this was five years ago. No health conditions, just mental health. Is it their 'voices' tech in the flesh? #nhs#voices#mentalhealth
Adding quality settings and in-engine smoothing. This is the same terrain height map as previous images, but now all the blockiness is alot less. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3D
Terrains now have a custom CSM directional light shadow system. Point lights use the VSM system still. #gamedev#indiedev#virtual3D - Just one directional light in this scene.
